The Week 2 matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles will showcase two teams with contrasting starts to their 2024 NFL seasons. The Eagles are coming off a thrilling 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers, a game in which they overcame a slow start to dominate the latter half. Quarterback Jalen Hurts led the charge with 278 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Running back Saquon Barkley provided balance on the ground, rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
The Eagles’ offense showed resilience, but the defense has some areas to improve, as they allowed 414 total yards and were plagued by three turnovers. The Falcons, on the other hand, had a disappointing start to the season with an 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Atlanta was competitive in the first half but faltered after halftime, getting outscored 12-0 in the second half. Quarterback Kirk Cousins struggled, throwing for just 155 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while rookie Bijan Robinson showed promise with 68 rushing yards on 18 carries. The Falcons’ offense failed to sustain drives and went just 2-for-9 on third-down conversions. To have a chance against the Eagles, they will need to limit turnovers and find more consistency on offense. For the Eagles, maintaining their offensive efficiency and tightening up their defense will be key.
The Falcons will need a more complete game from Kirk Cousins and a strong defensive effort to counter the Eagles’ powerful offense. If Atlanta can improve its execution and avoid costly mistakes, it could make this a competitive contest. However, with the Eagles’ strong home-field advantage and better overall form, they are favored to come out on top.

The Atlanta Falcons come into their Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles looking to bounce back after a tough 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kirk Cousins, who completed only 61.5% of his passes for 155 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, will need to step up significantly if the Falcons are to compete with the Eagles’ potent offense. Rookie running back Bijan Robinson showed flashes of potential with 68 rushing yards, and the Falcons will likely lean on him to provide balance and control the clock. The Falcons’ passing game needs more production from its playmakers, such as Kyle Pitts, who managed just three receptions in the opener. Defensively, the Falcons were solid, allowing only 270 total yards, but their inability to generate turnovers or stop the Steelers in key moments proved costly. Kaden Elliss leads the defense with nine tackles, but more will be required from the unit to slow down an Eagles offense that is capable of scoring quickly. If Atlanta can limit big plays and put together sustained drives, they could keep the game close. However, they will need a much-improved performance from Cousins and their offense to have a chance at upsetting the Eagles on the road.

The Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 2 looking to build on their momentum after a 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers. Jalen Hurts continues to show why he is one of the league’s premier quarterbacks, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for additional yardage. Saquon Barkley, in his Eagles debut, was a major factor, rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Despite a few missteps—such as three turnovers and seven penalties—the Eagles displayed their ability to score in bunches, particularly in the second half. The Eagles’ defense, however, will need to address the 414 total yards allowed against the Packers, particularly tightening up on third downs, where they allowed conversions on several key plays. At Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles have been dominant, particularly in the first quarter, where they have won each of their last four games. Philadelphia will look to start fast again and put the Falcons on the back foot early. If Hurts can continue to find his dynamic receivers like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and the defense can force Kirk Cousins into making mistakes, the Eagles should be in a strong position to secure another win and move to 2-0 on the season.
