The Pittsburgh Panthers are having a phenomenal 2024 season, currently sitting at 6-0 and ranked among the best in the ACC. Much of their success can be attributed to their well-balanced offense, led by quarterback Eli Holstein, who has thrown for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns while only giving up five interceptions. Pittsburgh’s rushing attack, led by Desmond Reid, has also been a key factor, with Reid accumulating 494 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The Panthers’ defense has also been impressive, allowing an average of just over 20 points per game, and they’ve been particularly stingy against the run. At home, Pittsburgh has been virtually unbeatable, with a 5-0 straight-up record in their last five games at Acrisure Stadium. They’ve also fared well against Syracuse, winning nine of the last ten meetings between the two teams. The Panthers will look to continue their strong play by exploiting Syracuse’s weaknesses on defense and maintaining control of the clock. Pittsburgh’s defensive front will be key in limiting Syracuse’s potent passing attack, while Holstein and Reid will aim to pick apart a Syracuse defense that has been inconsistent against both the run and the pass.
